Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , DAC8760
Team,
My customer has a question on 12-36 for PVDD/AVDD to GND for the DAC8771:
I was hoping to use an unregulated supply coming from a transformer which should deliver 13-16 VDC during normal operation. My concern is that during operation of our equipment the starting of other equipment up could temporarily reduce that supply to some value less than 12 VDC (brown out). I was checking out what would occur when I lowered the DC supply input to the DAC8771EVM. When I am outputting 20mA into 250 ohms I see no changes in the output or the +5 DVDD until I get below 7 VDC. I returned the input supply value to 13 VDC after 15-20 seconds and observe I no problems with the output or communications to the DAC8771.
I now want to use the DAC8771 if it can save me from having to regulate the supply prior to use. If I have to pre-regulate the supply the lower cost DAC8760 would make more sense. Could you have someone responsible for the DAC8771 to weigh in on this.
The largest expected value for the load for our device would be 500 ohms. My concern is not whether the output fully meets specifications during the event. I just don’t want our device to be damaged or have the analog output resetting every time a light flickers for more than a blink of an eye.
Thanks
