AMC7834: Pulsed closed-loop mode

Part Number: AMC7834

Hello,

I am designing pulsed power amplifier with GaN HEMTs. I want to use AMC7834 for closed-loop mode and generate pulse sequences by switching HEMT's gate voltages (from Vg_on to Vg_off (nearly -5 V) and vice versa). Is the closed-loop mode with pulsing realizable? As I understand, I can set VCLAMPx pin to +1.3 V and control SLEEPx pin to switching DAC output between Vg_on (define by HEMT's drain current) and -4.9 V. Is it works this way? Can I get rise/fall time of pulse no more than 5 us and provide current stability in pulses?

Thanks,

Aidar

  • Hi Aidar,

We specify that a max on/off time from sleep as 5µs each, so a pulse would be max 10µs.  It will also be dependent on the load of the output.

If you want to email me directly, I could send some information about another device we have that might be better for your application.
