ADS1262: What should i see as output when two analog input short circuited?

Part Number: ADS1262

Dear Chris,

I asked some questions before and you recomend me short circuiting the analog inputs for avoiding noise from external circuits. I attached my circuit schematics. My signal comes from AIN8. I select AIN8 and AIN1(directly connected to VREF) as INPMUX. My signal is 1.25V  plus minus 350mV max.Either I select AIN1 and AIN0 channels(both of them short circuted and connected to vref) or AIN8 and AIN9 as shorted, I get 250000 lsb as output. Is it normal or should i get quite zero?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi celal,

From your schematic, I noticed that XTAL1 is floating. Make sure to connect XTAL1 to GND if you intend to use the internal oscillator. Without this clock the ADC will not work.

When measuring the differential voltage between AIN0 and AIN1 you should see output codes very close to 0 (note codes are 32-bit signed, so 0xFFFFFFFF = -1).
