ADC128S052: How to calculate Total Unadjusted Error?

Hello.

I've read through numerous resources about how to calculate Total Unadjusted Error (TUE) for ADCs in general, but how do I do it for this specific ADC? According to some E2E posts I've read, you need to RSS (root-sum-square) the INL, offset and gain errors. The problem with this is that the datasheet for ADC128S052 does not specify gain error. However, the datasheet does specify "Full Scale Error"; is Full Scale Error the same as TUE, but precalculated for the customer? Or is Full Scale Error another way of saying gain error?

With the information provided in the datasheet, how do I calculate the TUE of this device?

Hello,

The Full Scale Error and the Total Unadjusted Error are not the same.

As you read more about full scale error and gain error, you will find that there are some inconsistencies with these metrics depending on the source.

As for TI,we published an ADC Performance Parameters Application Report, that indicates the gain error can also be referred to as Full Scale Error.
