DAC38RF82: gain factor vs. register setting

Hello Team,

The data sheet, Figure 90 and Table 86, do not provide any information about the gain factor vs. register setting.

Can you provide a curve or table which shows the gain in dependance of GAINAB register settings (Bits 11:0), please?

Also the function of the GAINAB_ENA bit (bit 15) is not clear for me. Setting the bit = 1 means enabling the AB GAIN block?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Hans

  • Hans,

The GAINAB register ranges from 0x00 to 0x8000. The default reset setting of this register is 0x4000 which equals a gain of 1. Max gain is 2 when this value is set to 0x8000. Each LSB of this value will multiply the data by .000976.

Bit 15 of register GAINAB_EN must be set to a "1" for the gain function to work. Otherwise the data path bypasses the gain logic block.

    Regards,

    Jim
