Hi,

I am using the ADC12DJ3200EVM board with TSW14J57 board set to JMODE2. My clock rate is 983.04MHz. We need to capture 10 ms or more worth of data in order to process an LTE data frame. I find that the GUI hangs when it needs to store more than 10 million samples. Is this because of the JMODE or is there some other problem?

I think there may be a bug in the current version of firmware being loaded with JMODE2.

If you are using a TSW14J57EVM Rev E board and have the latest version of HSDC Pro then you can try the following:

Here is a new .ini file for JMODE2:

/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/73/ADC12DJxx00_5F00_JMODE2_5F00_16L_5F00_ADC_5F00_DDR.ini

Copy this new file into the following folder location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\14J57revE Details\ADC files

Re-start HSDC Pro and the boards. Now when using JMODE2 select this alternate JMODE2 file name. It will load a different FPGA firmware that captures larger depths properly.

Let me know if this helps. If you have an earlier board revision please let me know and I will see what other options are available.

Can you capture a screen shot of the HSDC Pro GUI after you have connected to the TSW14J57EVM and loaded firmware for the desired ADC and JMODE?

Please add the screen shot to your next post by clicking on the "Insert Code, Attach Files and more..." link below the reply window. Then use the Insert/Edit Media icon to add the image file to the post.

This will help me understand exactly which capture board and firmware revision is currently being used.

I am checking with the TSW14J57EVM firmware team to determine which is the best firmware to support your requirements.
Can you confirm you need JMODE2, Trigger operation and the 10M samples deep capture?

Here are the changes you need to make to your setup to get captures with >10M samples.

1) Update High Speed Data Converter Pro to the latest version. It needs to be v5.00 or higher.

2) Once the software is updated, copy the updated file below into this folder location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\14J57revE Details\ADC files

Here is the updated file for JMODE2: /cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/73/ADC12DJxx00_5F00_JMODE2.ini

3) Then configure the ADC EVM as you have been and configure HSDC Pro for JMODE2. After the firmware is downloaded the information in the lower right-hand status bar of HSDC Pro should say Interface Type = TSW14J57RevE_16L_XCVR_ADCDDRDACBRAM

This newer firmware will support >10M sample captures and trigger mode operation.

Please try these steps and let me know if that resolves the problem you have been having.
