Linux/ADS54J20EVM: API for FT245R SPI bus stimulation

Part Number: ADS54J20EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSW14J57EVM

Tool/software: Linux

Hello,

I have an ADS54J20EVM and DAC3482EVM boards that I'm evaluating with TSW14J57EVM and TSW1400EVM (correspondingly).

I'd like to connect both boards to an FPGA system running Linux OS through an customized interposer board.

Do you have any Linux API which abstracts the SPI buses stimulation over the FT245R components?

If no, what is the best method to read/write EVMs registers without using Data Capture / Pattern Generator GUIs?

Thanks,

Shlomi

  • Shlomi,

We do not have any Linux API we can offer. The ADS54J20EVM has no way to bring in an external interface for the SPI signals. You will have to use the FTDI device as is. On the DAC EVM, there are resistors you can remove and try to use the available pads to connect a harness to another source or your FPGA to drive these signals. That is the best I can think of.
