DAC37J84: PSRR vs Frequency

Part Number: DAC37J84

Please provide PSRR of DAC vs frequency. I am having multiple DACs in my board and want to determine what is the max power supply noise I can tolerate w.r.t. switching frequencies and others. Hence need this data.

Kiran

We do not specifically have this data. Generally speaking you can operate with DC-DC converters for maximum efficiency. There are two key performance areas related to phase noise of the output and output spurious performance. The most sensitive nets are the ones that power the internal PLL/VCO. Noise or spurs that infect that net will get transferred to the output. For a conservative design, we recommend using LDOs on those nets. If opting for DC-DC converters, then ensure there is good bypassing and filters to eliminate or minimize supply noise and spurs. Often I include additional RC or LC filtering contingencies just in case there is a noise or spurious problem that "gets through".

You can reference this reference design: www.ti.com/.../slac751. It is not with the DAC37884, but it is with RF sampling converters. The power supply solution for that board uses only DC-DC converters.
