DAC38RF82: Where to find GAIN AB and GAIN CD in block diagram?

Genius 12865 points

Hello Team,

according data sheet you can set the gain for path AB (GAINAB) and path CD (GAINCD). The block diagram shows that both pathes are added.

It also shows the gainblock (DACA Gain & DACB Gain) after the adder block.

May I ask you for clarification, please?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Hans

  • Hi Hans,

  • Hans,

There is a digital Gain setting that is used by both DAC's, and an analog gain used separately by both DAC's. The first figure shows the analog gain block. The second figure from the GUI explains the digital GAIN AB and GAIN CD better than the block diagram you show. Since both DAC's can have 4 inputs (2 pairs of I/Q data) they both will have gain blocks to help balance the data that is combined. These are called path AB and path CD as shown in the attached figure.

    Regards,

    Jim
