ADS1278: The driver of Mother board MMB0 working together with ADS1278-EVM

Part Number: ADS1278
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO

Dear Sir:

Where can I download the device driver for mother board MMB0 so that ADS1278 EVM works with Windows10 or Windows 7?

My computer of Windows 10 can't find the device driver for MMB0 (NI-VISA), after I installed ADCPRO-installer.exe. Then I installed it to a lab computer Windows 7 that has no Internet link, but this lab computer is still unable to find the driver. Do I need anything else before ADCPRO is able to work?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hello Wenquan,

The drivers are included as part of the download process. You need to download both ADCPro Evaluation Software at this link as well as the plug-in ADS1278EVM-PDK-SW at this link. Once these installation files are saved on your local disk, you do not need an internet connection to install.

The software is tested to work on Windows 7, but many customers are able to install on Windows 10 if you enable "unsigned driver" installation. In both cases, you will need ADMIN rights on your PC in order for the software to install properly.

It is important to follow these steps in this order. Do not connect the MMB0 board to the PC USB port until you have installed the ADCPro software and the ADS1278EVM-PDK-SW plug-in. It may help to uninstall previous installations of ADCPro and start over with the full installation process.

    1. Run the ADCPro installer.
    1. You will have an option to uncheck different components.       Please install everything available and use the default directories.
    1. Run the ADS1278EVM-PDK-SW plug-in installer. The USBStyx Driver is installed onto your local disk.
    1. Connect the ADS1278EVM daughter board to the MMB0 board, and then connect the MMB0 board to the PC using the USB cable.
    1. Apply Power to the MMB0 board (see the user's manual for options).       Note that the MMB0 is not powered from the USB port, you must provide external power.
    1. At this time, the NI-VISA driver should automatically install.
    1. Run the ADCPro application and select the ADS1278EVM. The first time this is selected, the USBStix driver will then be installed.
    1. You should now have a fully working system.

For additional information, please refer to the ADCPro HW and SW Installation Manual.

Please let me know if you are able to get this working, or if you have additional questions.

    Thank you,

    Keith N.
