Hi,

We have an ADS8028EVM-PDK board. And the SPI signals of the ADC EVM is connected to the external microcontroller. Whereas we want to use the power supply from the MMB0 board. As there are very few documentations about the MMB0, we don't know if we can do that. If we plug the EVM into the MMB0, the SPI signals are also routed to the pins of the controller on the MMB0. Is it possible to use the EVM with MMB0 and external microcontroller at the same time?

Jianxiong,

I think the only way to use ADS8028EVM with the MMB0 power and an external microcontroller is to jumper over the power connections to the EVM. By simply plugging in the EVM to the MMB0, you can't disable the connections to the DSP, and you'd have contention between the DSP and whatever microcontroller that you use.

I would opt for a separate external supply. I've used this method for other EVMs and was able to use them for my own evaluation.
