ADS1258: ADS1258 internal reference connection

Part Number: ADS1258

Is it possible to use the internal reference by setting  SYSRED bit 5 to "1". If so is the internal reference equal to AVDD?

 

It looks possible from figure 36 in the ADS1258 datasheet.

    Hi Scott,

    The internal reference is only used and accessible when using the Reference or Supply internal monitoring channels. For all other measurements, the ADS1258 relies on an external reference source.

    Since you wouldn't be able to measure the supply voltage using the supply voltage as a reference, the internal reference would likely have to be an independent band-gap reference of some type.
