Hello,
I am using the ADS1298RECGFE PDK (Rev B.) with the MMB0 controller currently. Since it is connected to the MMB0 board using berg sticks and is removable, I wanted to use it with an MCU development board for SPI evaluation. What is the procedure to use this board as a breakout. Do I make the connections directly using the jumpers on the daughter board? Or do I need to use the pinouts from the same? Is there any documentation available for making these connections?

Also, if I can connect the SPI pins of the daughter ECG board directly to my MCU development board, how do I supply power to the ECG daughter board?

Hi Sudarshan,

Using the jumpers or pinouts will work, but I recommend using the pinouts as it is easier to keep track of the connections. You will have to provide the SPI connections as well as power. There are several posts from other users who have done the same thing, there is no official documentation:

Hello,

I was unsuccessful in establishing communication between the boards. My logic analyzer detects proper data on the MOSI line, but no response from the MISO line. I am forced to conclude that there is some kind of mismatch in the jumper configurations of the ADS1298RECGFEPDK.

I am currently only trying to read the Device ID by writing the specified value to the register. For this should i leave JP5 of the Eval board open and initialize a PWDN sequence? I have also configured the device for using internal oscillator using JP18 and JP19. According to the ADS1298R datasheet, in the Application information section, there is a flowchart for the initial flow at power-up. Does this require to be followed as well to read device ID?

Hi Sudarshan,

I'm not sure what you're trying to do by initiating a PWDN sequence. Can you elaborate?
Yes, the device has to power-up correctly in order to read the device ID. Can you observe /DRDY toggling?
