ADS1274: High speed mode

Part Number: ADS1274
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1278

I would like to use ADS1274 with SPI interface. I would like to make sure to understand correctly table 7 of the datasheet.

Is it possible to use ADS1274 in high speed mode with a clock frequency (fclk) lower than 27MHz?

For example is it possible to operate in high speed mode with 10MHz fclk and therefore to consider the ratio (fclk/fdata) equal to 256? In this case fdata will be 39062 Samples Per Second and the signal passband will be 17.7kHz

Thanks in advance

  • Hello Gabriele,

Welcome to our forum and thanks for your post!

Yes, the input clock frequency can be scaled in all modes in the ADS1278 from 100 kHz to the maximum frequency listed in the Electrical Characteristics table.

For High-Speed Mode specifically, please refer to Table 7 for additional restrictions on the master clock, reference voltage, and interface mode depending on the digital supply (DVDD).

    Regards,
