ADS54J42: Balun Transformer for Input

Part Number: ADS54J42

Hello,

My customer has a question about ADS54J42.

[Q]

You are using ADT1-1WT for input as single-ended to differential in EVM.

Also you describe ADT1-1WT  as an example for input balun.

The characteristic impedance of ADT1-1WT is 75ohm.

Why are you using ADT1-1WT for input balun ?

They want to use TC1-1T+.

Which is your recommendation ADT1-1WT or TC1-1T+ ?

Are there any problems with using TC1-1T+ ?

Best Regards,

Hiroshi Katsunaga

  • Hiroshi,

We normally like to use a transformer on the EVM that has a very wide band to allow customers to test over a wide frequency range. Most customers only require a rtain bandwidth, and in many cases, the default transformer on the EVM is not the best solution. There should be no problem using the TC1-1T+ as long as the customers requirements are within the specs of this part.

    Regards,

    Jim

  • Hi Jim,

Thank you for your fast response.
    OK, I understood your comments.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
