ADS1292: IEC 60601-2-47 Test is failed in ECG device with ADS1292

Part Number: ADS1292

Hi all,

We have developed a ECG monitoring device in which ADS1292 is used as an AFE,but the device failed the  IEC 60601-2-47 (ambulatory ECG device) test but we passed all other tests I have some questions related to this test

1. why it is called input impedance test ?

2. while selecting this test the test device (SECG 4.0) will add a 620K in series and 4.7nf parallel to the circuit(LOW pass filter) what is the purpose of this?

can anybody tell what is the basic idea of this test?

  • Hello Hari,

This is called an input impedance test because it is verifying that the devices input impedance is large enough to accurately measure ECG signals. The purpose of adding the additional components is to verify that the device still functions as intended with the additional impedance added to the signal chain.
