DAC5689: dual independent DACs

Part Number: DAC5689

Team,

I have a customer that wants to generate a waveform at 1Mhz with at least 250 points per cycle. Their intention is not necessarily a nice clean waveform, just a wavy profile to drive s mems device. They are currently considering the DAC5689 dual DAC. Ideally, they want to operate it as dual independent DAC’s, ignoring the interpolation and IQC functions.

Regarding clocking, their current plan is to run in dual clock mode with a write clock into the DAC FIFO and a separate read clock, so the timing is not as critical. Also if there is a paging delay getting data from memory to the DAC, the FIFO will compensate for that.

Is there any additional advice you could offer to a setup such as this, and any potential pitfalls using the device in this manner? Any advice you can give me about this implementation will be appreciated.
