Hi there,
I'm using an ADS8168 in single differential mode with AIN-COM tied to ground. However I found that on my schematic, the REFby2 pin is floating (not connected to a 1uF cap).
Would this cause any issues?
Thanks!
Nik

Hi Nik,
It is possible that the REFby2 could oscillate without a load capacitor, which would increase current consumption, but should not cause any other issues.
You can power this buffer down when not used, in which case you can leave the pin floating. Take a look at the PD_CNTL register in section 7.6.1.2 of the datasheet for more details.
