AFE5808A: eight channels cannot collect signals

Dear TI Experts

I am using 16pcs AFE5808A for 128channels projects and meet with a problem really needs your suggestion:

Channels of CH40 ~ CH47（total 8 channels） could not collect signals (all noise) in receiving channel test.These eight channels come from the same AFE5808A

After test this AFE5808A， In INP1~INP8, we can observe the 2 MHz sinusoidal wave signal injected, but in PGA Test Mode CW_IP_AMPINM/P and CW_QP_AMPINM/P PIN, we can not see the amplified sinusoidal wave signal

In contrast, other AFE5808a has sinusoidal wave signal at the same location!

Do you have any suggestions? I can send you shematic by email if you need this~

Hello Qianqian,

Based on what you mentioned, it seems like a board assembly issue.

To verify this, you may want to replace the device and check if the issue still persists.

So there is no need to change the register or do other tests?

We want to find out the reason~~

If it's not an assembly problem, the IC site will be destroyed.

The possible cause of the problem can no longer be found.

That's why we didn't repair it now~

So do you have any suggestions on it? Such as which pin is not solded well?

Hello Qianqian,

Since other devices are ok, the SPI register accesses should be fine as well.

You could run ADC test patterns but that might not solve why VCA has no signals.

We are suspecting the assembly issue. Power pins / PDN pins are not soldered correctly and this is causing the device to shut down.
