Need advice for ADC. Best option for ±20mA & ±10V input ranges implementation.

Hello!. I'm looking for the best Delta-Sigma ADC option to get the standard industrial analog ranges. Maybe it may be neccesary to get other V ranges, like 0-5V, 0-2.5V etc...

I prefer ADC with integrated resistive dividers. I've seen in one reference design an implementation with a SAR ADC. Resolution should be at least 16bits.

Welcome to our e2e forum! Take a look at the ADS8689 for starters. Can you tell us more about your desired sampling rate and the number of needed channels in your application?

Hi Tom, ADS8669, it looks nice. I need at least 8 inputs, best if they could be used as single ended or differential. One example would be the ADS1219. May be I could use two ADS1219 but if possible, I'd prefer to get rid of external R dividers.

Hi again Matias,

The ADS1219 would give you ~250 samples/second maximum throughput, is that adequate for you? With a MUX on the front end, you could get closer to 12.5K samples/second with the ADS8689. We have other multi-channel devices as well, so let us know what sample rate per channel you want to achieve.
