DAC38RF85: PAGE_SET register

Part Number: DAC38RF85

Hopefully a v simple question here !

The datasheet indicates that the PAGE_SET register is valid when PAGE_SET[2:0] is 000.

Surely this is not correct, as once the register has been changed to select another page, you will never be able to switch it back again.

Is this register really available for read/write regardless of the page currently selected ?

Is this the same for other registers also ?

  • User,

The user would write to address 9 to set the page. After a page has been fully configured, the user would write to address 9 again and set it to the next desired page that they want to write to. Address 9 is only valid for the General Configuration registers and can always be addressed no matter what the current page setting is.

    Jim

  • Hi Jim -

    Thanks for the reply.

    Just to confirm....

Are you saying that we can write to the PAGE_SET register regardless of what the PAGE_SET register is currently set to.

But we can only read the PAGE_SET register when it is set to the general configuration register page (000).

    Best Regards,

    Paul

  • Paul,

Yes for the write. I have not tested it, but I think you should be able to read it no matter what page is currently addressed.

    Regards,

    Jim
