Hi,

i think my question is more a question about the software that supports the evaluation kit for the ADS816x.

I wanted to use the kit for some pseudo-differential signals and evaluating the ADS816x before making a prototype pcb, but I cannot access the necessary registers AIN_CFG and COM_CFG!

Is it not possible to operate the ADS8168 in the pseudo-differential mode with the evaluation kit? I think i must be missing something...

I tried to add the registers in the xml file but only received an error message about a start/end bit.

If its helpful I can add the modified register file, but I don't know if that's the right way. It was just a quick desperate try...

Hi Friedrich,

The EVM is capable of supporting these modes, but there is clearly an error in the register maps. Several key registers are missing.

Please give me a few days to track this down. I will reply by end of business Friday with an update.

Hi Keith,

thanks for your reply. I managed to implement these two registers, I had a little error in the xml file.

But of course for further testing I will wait for an official register map as I don't know which registers are also missing.

Edit: I'm seeing now the reference registers are missing. In the GUI I can not switch between internal and external reference.

Hi Friedrich,

We are working on cleaning the register files up. We should have an update on the web no later than next Monday.

I will reply back to this e2e thread once we have these released.

It is taking a little longer than we had anticipated to release the updated software. We hope to have the new GUI on the TI web site by this Friday.

Hi Friedrich,

The GUI update is complete. We are just waiting to get it published on the ADS8168EVM-PDK product folder page. I do not have an exact date, but it should be available later this week.
