AFE5801: Magnitude-Frequency response of the AAF

Part Number: AFE5801

Hi Team,

This is to request information on the mag-freq response of the AAF on the AFE5801 ADC. The introduction in the data sheet mentions the response to be a third-order anti-aliasing filter, but later on, the plots on the mag-freq response do not depict a third-order decay. Could you please help with this ambiguity? Also, may I please request the mag-freq response for a larger frequency sweep? For instance, till 100 MHz.

Thank you.

  • Thanks for point out these! typically third order filter requires two opamp to achieve. due to power consumption and size of the chip, it might not be feasible. thus our chip implementation is a mix of active filter embeded in the amplifier , plus the passive RC filter. as a result, the response is not as 18dB/Octave; while we do have 3 poles in the fitler; so we still call it as 3rd order fitler.

based on the datasheet plot, you can predict the roll of about 10dB per octave. hope it helps you get the filter response up to 100MHz.

    Thanks!
