ADS1293: Choice of load capacitors for other crystals

Part Number: ADS1293

Hi,

The question is regarding a custom board with ADS1293. I am planning to use a different crystal than the one used in the reference design. I saw in the datasheet I "must" use 20 pF as the load capacitor.

I am using a different crystal (CX8045GA04000H0PST03) which uses load capacitors of 12 pF. (1) Can you please confirm it is ok to use 12 pF.

(2) All the crystals I found for 4MHz operation are quite big. Can you suggest a part that is smaller? If I drop the crystal and feed a 400 kHz signal in the CLK pin, will that work?

Thank you in advance!
