DAC121S101: DC Output Impedance

Part Number: DAC121S101

Hi all,

how I can measure the DC Output Impedance of the DAC121?

Is correct if I send code FFF and measure the output without load and with ome load (for example of 100uA), the difference is the voltage on internal impedance.

Thank you for your support and best regards

Francesco

  • Hi Francesco,

Thank you for your query. The DC output impedance for DAC121S101 is specified in the datasheet. If you still want to measure it on the hardware, you need a precision current source like a source measure unit or SMU. You can put the DAC at a fixed code, for example, the mid-code and then source different currents from the DAC output. At the same time measure the DAC output voltage. You can get the output impedance using the equation (V2-V1)/(I2-I1).

You can also do this by using two precision resistors one by one, in place of an SMU. As the DAC output impedance is very small, the measurement accuracy will be important.

    Hope that answers your question.
