AFE4404: External Light Sensitivity

Since it is a wafer scale package, does the AFE4404 have any problems being exposed to external light sources (IR, visible, or UV)?

Hi Andy,

We don't recommend exposing AFE4404 to UV light, whereas IR and visible should be fine.

Thanks for the response. Why is UV light a problem, and not IR or visible? What problems would occur if exposed to UV? Would they be permanent or temporary?

Hi Andy,

Internal of the AFE are sensitive to UV and with exposure to UV the performance will be compromised.

Depending on the exposure time as well as intensity, the damage can be permanent and temporary.
