TSC2007: TSC2007 no interrupt response after touch screen

Part Number: TSC2007

When we use our TSC2007 to realize the screen control.

But we met the problem with interrupt pin no response when we touch the screen.

Below is their schematic.

The address of IIC is 0x49. The configuration process is to configure the power-down mode in the initialization, and then click the screen to trigger the interrupt, configure the ADC digit and read the X and Y values through the interrupt processing function. But now they could not realize the interrupt response about the screen tough.

IIC should have no problem in reading and writing. By configuring d3-d2 01: A/D converter on. PENIRQ disabled, the interrupt pin can be directly lowered to trigger the interrupt, but clicking on the screen does not.

So about the problem, could you please give us some comments?

  • Hi,

Can you share images of the X+, Y-, and PENIRQ signals before going into power-down along with images of these same signals when the screen is touched?

The PENIRQ function on the TSC2007 devices is a simple function and usually behaves properly.  As noted in the datasheet if the last command byte contains PD0=1 then the PENIRQ function is disabled and will not trigger on touch events.  Otherwise, note that the capacitance placed on the signals forms a time constant with the internal PENIRQ pull-up resistances which will impact the reaction time of the PENIRQ signal so perhaps try waiting a little longer as well.

Might I also suggest looking at the article Understanding the pen-interrupt (PENIRQ) operation of touch-screen controllers. This article provides some great insight on how the PENIRQ function works.

    Regards,
