Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC7201, , ADS5407, ADS54J66, ADS5404
Hi Sir
I saw TDC7201 can accept 10~12nS pulse width timing for TIA
May I know ADC3244 can accept 5nS or less pulse width timing ?
Thanks

Hello Kai,
The analog input bandwidth (-3 dB) is 540 MHz. 5 nS = 200 MHz, so, depending on your requirements, this might be good enough. Additionally, you can see our LIDAR reference design that uses the ADC3244 at the below link.

Hello Kai,
No, I do not believe this will be a sufficient sampling rate for a 5 nano second pulse. 125 MHz = 8 nanos and 200 MHz = 5 nanos.
You will need to make sure that you are sampling enough points, so that you will always be able to capture the pulse when it happens. You will need to determine how may points are required. So, in with a 5 nanos pulse, you may need to sample once per every nano second or every 2.5 nano seconds. This must be determined first, and then you can look at which high speed ADC will be able to meet this requirement (keep in mind analog input bandwidth as well).
My opinion is that you will need at least 400-500 MSPS sampling rate.
We have some ADCs that fall into this bucket, such as: ADS54J66, ADS5404 and ADS5407 (plus many more). Here is a link to the search tool.
