DAC082S085: Lower current consumption DAC

Hello,

Our customer is using very low power 10bit 2ch DAC for DC reference voltage generation on battery derived sensor equipment.

They are aiming to achieve 5year or more battery life.

Non TI 2ch DAC is specified 1.7uA@3.3V consumption.

We try to replace it by DAC082S085 but current consumption is 190uA even Fsck=0.

Would you introduce us suitable 2ch 8-10bit low power DAC?

Hi Mochizuki-san,

Are you looking for very low power in power-down mode only, or in normal operation? <1.7uA in normal operating mode will be very difficult to achieve.

Hi Paul-san,

Our customer look for low power DAC in normal operation mode.

A reference device has following current consumption characteristics, Fsck is one of key parameter.

So, <10uA current consumption can be achievable at Fsck 100KHz condition by using DAC7311 or DAC082S085?

Hi Mochizuki-san,

To my understanding, there is no TI DAC that consumes that low of current in normal operation - can you share the competitor device? Is this <10uA limit for total current, or just the IO supply?

We currently do have any DAC with this low of IQ.

If you would like to reach out to me at frost@ti.com I can forward the opportunity to our systems team. It is possible that we have a device on our road map that could do this, but is not currently in development.
