ADS1235: ADS1235 different

Part Number: ADS1235
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1261,

Hi Sir

May I know what's the key different between ADS1261 and ADS1235 ?

Thanks

  • Hi Kai,

The ADS1261 has several additional features, including:

    • An internal 2.5V reference
    • Faster data rates up to 40 kSPS (ADS1235 max data rate is 7.2 kSPS)
    • Up to 5 additional analog inputs
    • Additional PGA gains (between 1 and 64 V/V)
    • Programmable IDAC current sources
    • Burn-out current sources for open-sensor detection
    • VBIAS level shifter

Apart from those features the devices are very similar. If a customer is doing a bridge sensor measurement and doesn't require the internal reference, intermediate PGA gains or additional analog inputs, then the ADS1235 is a great fit. However for RTD, thermocouple and higher channel count applications, I would reccommend the ADS1261.
