ADS1256: What is the amplitude of ADS1256 PIN19 XTAL1 XTAL2?

Part Number: ADS1256

Hi Ti

    1:What is the amplitude of ADS1256 PIN19 XTAL1 XTAL2?

2:Crystal oscillator is configured with 7.68m, as shown in the figure;C126 and C130 are 18PF, but the data cannot be read. After changing 18PF to 8PF, the amplitude voltage of the test is about 1V, but the data still cannot be read,Could you please help to analyze the reason?Thank you very much!AD1256.pdf

  • Hi Wang,

The AVDD voltage should be a minimum of 4.75V and the nominal operating voltage being 5V.  AVDD at 3.3V is below the operating voltage.  Also verify that the RESET pin is logic high.

Regarding the crystal oscillation, you can try monitoring the CLKOUT pin with an oscilloscope to see if the frequency is correct.  Probing the crystal itself may cause issues due to the capacitive loading of the scope probe.  If the ADS1256 is receiving a clock input and converting you should also see DRDY toggling.

    Best regards,
