ADS1528 CAPACITOR

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1258

HI to everybody,

I am finishing a design with ADS1528. I included a OPA between MUXP_OUT and ADCP_IN to perform as a buffer. The MUXN_OUT, and the ADCN_IN are connected to GND since my application is single ended to single ended. My question is: do I have to use a capacitor between ADCP_IN and ADCN_IN in my case?

Thanks in advance

  • Nuba,

I presume you transposed the numbers in the post heading and you really meant ADS1258.  Yes, it is a good idea to have the cap at the ADC inputs.  See section 'd' under Hardware Considerations on page 41 of the datasheet.  You need to make sure that the cap is small enough so as not to drive the amplifier into oscillation, as most op amps do not like a capacitive load.

    Best regards,
