AMC7812B: capacitive load stability

Part Number: AMC7812B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC7836, , AMC7812

Hi team,

I want to know if the following two parameters describe the same meaning.

Maximum capacitive load of AMC7836 parameter :

Capacitive load stability of AMC7812B parameter:

I'm not sure what the maximum capacity load of AMC7812B can be. Could you clarify it for me?

Best Regards,
Amy Luo

  • These are the same specification. We tried to re-word the definition to make it more clear, but there is still some confusion. Basically, we are trying to describe that maximum capacitive load on DAC where the DAC is still guaranteed to be stable. So in both the AMC7812 and AMC7836 we are saying that if the load is 10nF or less, the output will be stable. There is no required minimum capacitance.

Note that in the AMC7836 we show the small-signal response of the DAC output with 10nF load.  You can see some overshoot, but the output does settle.

    Thanks,

    Paul
