TX7316: 3-Level mode Power estimation information

Part Number: TX7316

Hi Team,

Our customer is requesting for the power values information for the 3-Level mode of TX7316 below if available:
In receive-only mode:
In transmit-receive mode:
In CW mode (0.6-A mode):
In global power-down mode:

Only the 5-Level mode is given in the 1st page of the datasheet for the above information.

Please let me know if you have any questions for the customer.

Thanks!

Jonathan

  • Jonathan,

we are checking with our app team. we will come back later. may need some time due to Thanksgiving!

    thanks!

  • Hi Xiaochen,

Thank you very much for your response.

I am looking forward to the updates.

    Regards,

    Jonathan

  • In receive-only mode:

The power mentioned in the datasheet is applicable for both 3- and 5-level mode. This is total power.

PD_R, total power dissipation in reciever only mode: 50mW default mode vs 15mW at transmitter less power mode

    In transmit-receive mode:

In 3- level mode when all the 16 channels are excited then the HV supply current (In 3-level mode A and B supply will become same to say 100V) will become double and LV supply current remains same. Hence power also will almost double. So power mentioned in datasheet for different modes will double in 3-level mode when 16 channels are excited.

    In CW mode (0.6-A mode):

In 3-level mode if all the 16 channels are excited then power will almost double with respect to what mentioned in the datasheet. Datasheet numbers are with 8 channels excited in 5-level mode. In on-chip beamforming mode, 0.6A, 5-level mode gives power of 1.97W. In case of 3-level mode device will consume power of 3.7W.
In global power-down mode: The power mentioned in the datasheet is applicable for both 3- and 5-level mode. This is total power. as 4.3mW

    Thanks!
