ADS1299EEGFE-PDK: ADS1299 CHIP SELECT ISSUE

Part Number: ADS1299EEGFE-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1299

As title, if I have only one ADS1299 device, can I connect the CS pin to GND directly, if not, should I connect it to the host's I/O with low out.

I find in the user guide,  I find in the DOUT section,  as below, I don't know whether the high to low action of CS before data out is necessary.

Could anyone tell me about this?

Thanks.

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

The ADS1299 chip-select (/CS) pin may be shorted to ground. This will permanently enable the interface, which is acceptable if no other devices are sharing the SPI bus. The MSB of the output data is clocked out of the device by the first SCLK rising edge. Data is meant to be latched by the SCLK falling edge.

    Best regards,
