DDC BGA

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DDC232

I am considering using the DDC232 for a new design. I understand that leakage on the input pins must be minimized for good performance and I'm worried about the cleanliness under the bga packaging. Have you observed leakage problems for this part? Are there any recommended special procedures for cleaning? We will likely be soldering this part in-house using a small prototyping oven.

    Jim,

We typically use a sonic+chemical bath to clean our boards here on-site.  One of our sister groups used a chemical-wash-only process once and found leakages to be a bit higher than when they used the sonic+chemical bath, so based on that anecdotal evidence I would recommend the sonic+chemical bath.  I am just a designer and user of the boards though, not a PCB assembly expert so I cannot make an authoritative statement on this topic; I'm just sharing my experience.

    Thanks and good luck!
