Refer to the following thread on the forum

    http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/high_speed_data_converters/f/68/p/85288/299470.aspx#299470

I have posted DAC5682z EVM driver files there and some related info. The posted files are for WIN XP.

  • Hello,

I follow all your instructions but it get the same message. I left windows 7 and try it  on Windows XP but it didn't work. When i try to write the files manually in C\windows\system32\drivers, i cant find all the files that i need either in the files you posted or in C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\DAC5682z\DAC5682z Drivers. Thes are the files  missed. Thanks

Can you see "Texas Instruments DAC5682" listed in the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" in the device manager of your computer? Does the windows on your machine alert you that it has detected a "new hardware" when you plugin the EVM to the PC through the USB cable? If your machine is detecting the hardware but failing to find a suitable driver for it, then the driver files that I posted earlier should work fine. I experimented an installation on a clean win XP machine, plugged in the EVM *after* installation, asked windows to *use the driver that I specify*, included the "driver" folder from DAC5682 installation in the driver search path for windows and the EVM just worked.

If windows is not alerting you to a new hardware, then something might be wrong with your USB port, USB cable or the USB chip on the EVM. If it is the EVM, kindly ask your field office to replace it for you.

    Regards,

  • Hello,

    Thanks for your availability.

When i plug-in  EVM to my computer through the usb cable , widows didn't detect any "new hardware" so  i  try to install the software on a clean win xp machnine.

So first , i install the software

    Second: restart the computer

Trird: Plug-in the usb cable.  After  this stage,  windows didnt see the drivers automatically and i gave him  the path to the files you gave to me , Am i wrong?

After that , windoxs says tthat the " drivers didn't install correctly because he didn't see the right software"

I also try to specify this path " C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\DAC5682z\DAC5682z Drivers" but it was the same

    Attached files:

    3782.DAC5682z Drivers.zip ( the files you sent )

8562.DAC5682z Drivers.zip ( the drivers  installed by the software)

    Thanks

If the drivers are not installing correctly, please refer to this thread again http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/high_speed_data_converters/f/68/p/85288/302678.aspx

It appears that your PC is missing the drivers for FTDI FT245RL USB chip, which the DAC EVM uses. You can download those drivers from the link I posted on that thread.
