ADS124S08: maximum SPI frequency can handle

Hi Team,

We have a customer inquiry regarding  ADS124s08 ADC.
They are working with an internal oscillator (4.096 MHz) and 400 SPS for ADC.
The customer wants to know the maximum frequency that the ADS124S08  can handle and which is the best suitable frequency to use.

Please let me know if you need more information on the customer.

    Hi Jonathan,

    The information is given in the datasheet in Table 7.6 on page 14 of the ADS124S08 datasheet.  The maximum SCLK frequency for the device can be determined from the minimum SCLK period. This is timing tc(SC) in the table.  The minimum period is 100ns which equates to 10MHz maximum frequency.  I don't recommend going that fast unless absolutely necessary.  Most customers run the SCLK frequency in the range of 1 to 5 MHz.
