TSW14J56EVM: TSW14J56EVM downloading firmware failure

Hi,

I'm debugging the ADS54J20EVM and TSW14J56EVM these days,then i connected it and configed the GUI accordind the userguide.first i loaded the ADS54J20EVM config file and the LMK04828 PLL is locked,sencond I open the HSDC Pro GUI to download the firmware of TSW14J56EVM ,when i choosed the file to downloading acording to userguide the GUI popup the message(pic1) and download fail, I can't find why it is,could you help me?

Suy,

Make sure the 5V supply going to the TSW14J56EVM can provide at least 4A of current.

Hi Jim,

When I replace the power supply to 5V/5A input,the error still appear.Is it related to the software or some others?

Hi,

Make sure your system has LABview 2014 patch files. They are easily available online.

What is the status of the 8 status LED's on the TSW14J56EVM when this error occurs?

Jim,

The 8 LEDS you mentioned are D1~D8?They lit a short time then put out when i download firemware.

Another thing i'm so sorry to tell you the DC power supply which i bought yesterday does not supply more than 4A current on C.V mode,the new power supply is coming up when i will try to do it again.

Suy,

All of your symptoms are looking like a supply with not enough current capability. I think your new supply should fix your issue.

Jim,

That is meaning download sucessful in the pic1？The user guide description it takes 30~40 senconds，but i can‘t receive any message when download complete.

Suy,

The firmware should only take a couple of seconds to download. There will be no pop up message when it completes. You will see an Interface Type name show up like you show in the red box and the status in the bottom right of the GUI will say "Idle". Status LED D8 should turn on and D7 and D6 should be off. If D8 if off and D7 and D6 are on, the board failed DDR calibration and would need to be replaced.
