DAC38RF82EVM: DAC board no output

Part Number: DAC38RF82EVM

Hi,

I followed "CMODE3" in the "Quick Start" section of DAC38RF82evm manual, which uses TSV board together with DAC board, but cannot get any output whatever I send to the device via HSDC. I assume there exists a hardware issue, but all the indication lights are lit up exactly same as what the manual shows.

Can you give some insights about the problem? I tried all software adjustments but still I cannot get any signal from the device. Previously when someone worked on this project, it run successfully and this time it doesn't even I operated the system under his instruction.

Yours sincerely,

Yujia

  • Yujia,

After you load the DAC configuration, make sure to click on the "PLL Auto Tune" button. After doing this, click on the DAC38RF8x tab then select the clocking tab. The PLL LF Voltage box should have a value between 3-5. If not, you either have the jumper on JP10 installed or something is wrong with your reference clock that should be connected to SMA J4.

On the TSW board, LED D2 should be blinking. If not, this is another sign you are having an issue with the DAC clock.

Make sure both boards are getting 5V with at least 4A of current.

    Regards,

    Jim
