DAC2904: Device technology and transistor count

Part Number: DAC2904

Hello,

I am carrying out some reliability analysis on the DAT2904 and am having trouble finding information about the technology the chip was made with and am also curious about the rough number of transistor on-board, to a factor of 10. I realize the second bit of information tends to be proprietary and is why I'm asking for just a rough number.

Thank you for any information you might have.

  • Hello,

The DAC2904 DAC device is done with 0.6um CMOS process. However, we cannot disclose the transistors count. Hope you understand. Thanks

  • Hi Kang,

I don't need exact transistor counts, but my analysis requires does require the input.  A rough number, rounded to an order of magnitude even, would be very helpful.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Nick,

Sorry, I cannot find more information. The designers for this part is no longer available.

Some assumptions, there are 14-bits DACs times 2 channels, each 14-bit DAC has 2^14 switch matrix for the current output, therefore, you have at least 2*(2^14) transistors on the output stage.

There are additional transistors on the encoder (14-bit = 14+ transistors) + input CMOS stage of 14x2 NMOS/PMOS inverter stage. .

I hope I give you enough insight to continue. sorry can't be much more helpful than this.
