ADS122C04: UVLO Information

Part Number: ADS122C04

Hi,

I don't see any UVLO information in the data sheet. Paragraph 8.4.1.1 speaks about a power-up threshold which is not specified. Is there information about where this threshold is? This is also a kind of UVLO since the ADC no longer communicates below this threshold if I understand it correctly?

Best regards,

Alen

  • Hi Alen,

The under-voltage lock out (UVLO) is considered to be the the POR threshold.  So the ADS122C04 is held in a reset state until the supply is high enough to start the internal circuitry.  The POR threshold details are not normally discussed in the datasheet as the device is not full functioning until the minimum AVDD and DVDD voltages for recommended operation has been reached which is 2.3V for this device.

For conditions of brown-out or black-out, there is a voltage where the ADS122C04 will go into a reset state and similar to the POR with respect to hysteresis the device will be placed into the reset state and held there until the POR threshold releases the device for operation. The POR threshold is somewhat temperature and lot variation dependent and might range in the area from 1.4 to 1.65V.

If more specific control and voltage thresholds need to be maintained, then I would suggest using a voltage supervisor connected to the RESET pin of the ADS122C04.

    Best regards,
