LM98714: lm98714

Part Number: LM98714

Dear Sir/Madam,

How can we select the input clock frequency for IC LM98714. Can we divide the input clock for the CCD or It if fixed as per input clock.

please assist me.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your post. I am assigning it to engineer who supports this product. Please expect a response by 2/25/20.

    Kind Regards,

    Liaqat

  • Hello,

The input clock is internally  selectable. If external clock is the pixel clock Reg1_D2 should be set to1, internally clock will be multiplied to get required ADC clock

You can find the relation between external clock and internal ADC clock for different modes of operation in datasheet table1

  • Dear Costin,

Can it be useful for CCD sensor S11511?

As per the earlier query regarding the CCD sensor S11510, LM 98714 can not be used for its timing generation because of ADC's speed issue but if the input clock is reduced to desired speed of CCD sensor.

    then

Can it be useful for the above mentioned CCD sensor or not?

    Please clarify the doubt.

  • Hello Pankaj,

LM98714 main application is color scanner not a real match for S11511. To my understanding  S11511 is a 64*2048 array not a scanner type: 3 lines processed in parallel.  An external controller is needed for line selection. LM98714 should be set in "slave" mode: SH should be generated by this controller.

That's only one clock in the system, LM98714 clock should match the sensor pixel clock to align the ADC sampling in CDS mode or S/H mode  with sensor pixel

    Regards,
