ADS131M04EVM: Install GUI issue

Part Number: ADS131M04EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS131M04

Hi Team,

My customer wants to evaluate ADS131M04 EVM but encounters GUI installation problem. The error message is as following, is there any comment for this problem and how to solve it.

Thanks very much.

  • Vincent,

I'm not sure what the problem is, but the computer is not seeing the PHI controller board at all. There are a couple of things to and try.

When you plug in the board to a USB port, does the LED next to the connection on the PHI light up? After that, there should be a blinking LED (also on the PHI) to indicate that it's ready for the next communication.

If you open Device Manager, and then plug in the USB cable with the PHI, does Device Manager refresh to show that there is a new USB device? This doesn't require the software. I just want to see that the computer understands there's a new USB device.

I would also try a different USB data cable (make sure that it has data capability). I have seen at least one brand new USB cable not work at all.

What version of Windows is being used?

The screenshot that you provided suggests that there's a bad connection to the PHI board. It's not a question of recognizing the specific EVM board. Regardless, read through my comments and let me know.

  • Hi Joe,

Thanks a lot for your comment. After told to customer I found he use old version ADS131M04 EVM that he got from his colleague, that is why new GUI tool cannot recognize it. I shipped him a new version EVM and will follow up with his the problem can be solved or not.

    Thanks very much.
