ADC12DJ3200EVM: ADC12DJ3200EVM

Part Number: ADC12DJ3200EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSW14J57EVM

As the ADC has very low memory, I want to save the real time data stream from "high speed data converter pro" software to my PC. But the "continuous capture" option for data capture does not serve that purpose. So what is the alternative ?

  • Hi Ankan,

How big of a capture sample do you want? TSW14J57EVM has DDR RAM and you should be able to do up to a 2M sample capture on the TSW14J57EVM. You will have to click Data Capture Option -> Capture Option.

Please write 2097152 in the box for # Sample( per channel).

You will also need to use a different firmware to get this bigger capture. To do this select the ini file for your specific mode and let the firmware get loaded automatically and once the firmware is loaded you will need to manually download  you will need to go to Instrument Options-> Download firmware.

The file selection window will option and please select the firmware shown in picture below.

  • Using "continuous capture" option would I get the data stored in my PC/system or EVM module ? My requirement is to get continuous data upto a few Tera Samples. My systems can handle it. But it cannot be stored in the EVM module.

So can you kindly elaborate on how the data is saved and where, during "continuous capture" ?

    Thanks and regards,

    Ankan

  • The term "continuous capture" is misleading here. I think what you are looking for is continuous stream of data upto few Tera samples, but even in continuous capture mode HSDCpro is still doing individual capture one after other and data is not a continuous stream. You will have develop you own capture solution to capture continuous data.

  •    Hence using "continuous capture" option would i get the data stored in my pc/system, where the HSDCpro is installed ? Or it gets stored in the EVM module untill i click "stop" ?

  • Hi Ankan,

Here is where the data is saved a bin file

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\HSDCPro Data
