This a second post to satisfy a request from TI customer support on case CS0167809.
We purchased ADS54J69 and TSW14J57 on 2/28 (order# T00676051) and received on 3/5/2020. Verified operation on 3/6, items work fine. Used for about 6 hours off and on 3/9 until evm failure. Pwr Fail led lit up on 14J57 data capture board after saving adc binary data file. After powering down and restarting 14J57 fails to load ADC configuration file and the power fail led has turned OFF.
More info: I am using SLA662B user guide 2016 version. Setup of the adc steps 2.2 section which loads configuration files for the converter performed successfully. Steps on paragraph 2.3.1 which uses software to configure the J69evm steps 1 thru 7 setup the LMK04828 PLL and load the adc configuration file. The PLL and ADC files load successfully.
In step 2.3.2 the HSDC Pro GUI is configured. Steps 1 thru 5 occur as described in user guide. In step 6, the prompt to update the ADC firmware takes place. This step does not complete successfully. A pop-up reports: Download Failure FIRMWARE_DOWNLOAD_ERROR Firmware could not be downloaded. Normally when this step is successful the D1-D9 leds light up but not all. In the case of the firmware download failure all leds are OFF. All the power monitoring LEDs are ON, the power fail led is OFF.
My request is for TI to replace the TSW14J57EVM or repair the unit. These items were purchased by an Alphacore employee as a Guest customer at TI store. Sold to: 178251, sales order: T00676051. I work am a Sr. Test engineer at Alphacore Inc.
