TVP5151 EXTERNAL SYNC signals configuration

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP5151

Hi,

I'm using TVP5151 with an OMAP3 in SYNC mode and I'd like to capture only the active video signal.

I understand VBLK can be configured to do so between frames, and AVID between lines, but only one signal on OMAP3 ISP can be used to distinguish between useful/unuseful data. It is the WEN signal.

Is it possible to combine AVID and VBLK in one single signal (without external circuitry) to achieve this?

Another question I have regards HSYNC signal control. It seems possible to configure when it starts, but is it possible to configure when it stops? I'd like  to configure it to be as large as the AVID signal (so that OMAP3 ISP only grabs only the video payload).

thanks

regards

Gilles.

  • Gilles,

The TVP5151 AVID output can be used to qualify both horizontally and vertically.  Setting AVID Active=1 (REG12h(bit2)) enables cropping during the VBLNK interval, so AVID will be active only during the active video frame.  AVID can then be used as a single data capture enable for OMAP.
