DAC5578: DAC with initial high-impedance output(Hi-Z)

Hi expert,

Customer is seeking for DAC with below sepc:

  1. Channel number : >= 4 channel
  2. Output type: current or voltage both OK, for both type, need DAC can sink or source current. For the current output, the sink/source current need be >= 200uA. For the Voltage output type, the max output voltage need > 1.25V.
  3. Output need be in High-impedance after power on reset
  4. I2C interface
  5. 8 bit would be enough for the margin usage
  6. Low cost

Would you please help recommend?

  • Hi Zhang,

    DAC8578 meets all criteria except the 3rd one which is output at high impedance after power on reset. After power up you need to program the device to be in high impedance state since all the circuits will be active including output stage after POR event.

    Is this for voltage margining application, since you specifically asked for high impedance at power on ? If that's the case we have some new device coming up which is exactly targeting margining application.

    We have single channel device which by default High Z on power up, DAC53401, which has NVM as well (targeting voltage margining applications)
