ADS8363EVM: SPI measured analog value is frozen after some days

Part Number: ADS8363EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8363

Dear Sir or Madam,

I develop a measurement device with your ADS8363EVM.  This board is connected as followed, see picture below please. The analog voltage is supplyed by an insulated DC/DC Converter TMH 0505S. I measure the value of the analog input B0 via SPI with a C# programmable ARM STM32 microcontroller. After some days the B0 SPI values from the ADS8363EVM are frozen. Until now i fix this problem with switch off and on the 3.3V power source, when the lowest bits show no noise. I use also other ICs in this SPI, but these works normally. Please help me to fix this problem. Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Michael,

    Thanks for the update.

I've reviewed the connections and jumper settings. They seem to be correct. Is "Net AD-CS" exclusive to the ADS8363?

The fact that your setup is working for an extended period of time should confirm it is not a setup issue. Have you tried to disconnect the shared devices from the SPI bus and run your test for the same amount of time?

When this issue occurs, are you able to capture the SPI waveforms to confirm you are still meeting all timing requirements?

    Best regards,

  • Dear Ryan,

Net AD-CS is exlusive to ADS8363. For the Test of the last week, the setup run without an error. I will check the SPI waveforms when the error occur.

    Best regards,
