DAC088S085: Control under daisy chain connection

Part Number: DAC088S085

Hello Team,
I would like to know two things about the daisy chain operation of DAC088S085.
Condition:  Using the connection in the data sheet 8.5.2 of DAC088S085.
1. How should I control only DAC2 in the daisy chain configuration when I don't want DAC1 to control anything ?

2. If I want to control the same DAC continuously, how should I control it ?
For example, when I want to control DAC2, 48SCLK is not output. Is it okay to raise SYNCn with 32SCLK?
Any advice will be appreciated.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for writing to us.

In a basic Daisy chain configuration, no of clk cycles required will be depends on  no of devices in chain. In the example case we have 3 devices, so we need 48CLK cycles if you want to send data into all DAC's.

You need to send 48CLK and data into the first device which will then clocked out into other devices in the chain as long as you keep SYNC signal low for 48SCLK.

    1. You need to send dummy data for DAC1 and DAC3 in the chain and actual data for DAC2

    2. I have never tried this, sending only 32SCLK and in theory it should work, but you need to shuffle data accordingly

As I said, please verify this configuration.
